Competed project at Trull

We are pleased to share recent photos of completed contemporary metal clad 2-storey extension to an existing Grade II Listed barn conversion, providing additional living accommodation and alfresco dining experience on the first floor terrace (perfect for those summer BBQ’s!).
The original barn dating back to the late 18th century was used for cattle on the ground floor and storage upstairs, and was converted in circa 2004.
The extension design is sympathetic to its context and suitably subservient to the existing buildings.
The palette of external materials of corrugated metal panels for the walls and roof, together with natural wood door and windows, were chosen in collaboration with the council’s Heritage Officer to reflect the agricultural nature of the existing buildings.
The selected materials both complement and contrast with those of the main barn, in an appropriate and modest manner.
