Colour in Design for Dementia…

Thank you Richard Bailey of Crown Paints for a very insightful CPD presentation on the use of colour in dementia care environments.

Vets Expansion…

Video of a recently completed project at Mount Vets, Wellington comprising single storey extension to accommodate 2 additional consulting rooms, pharmacy walk through, and a rear link corridor to the existing building with separate access for staff and patients.

Up she goes…

Restricted site access meant that the external concrete stair to this contemporary modern extension had to be craned over the roof of our clients barn conversion. Nerve wracking moments whilst this was in the air!

Merriott New Builds

Stone + Partners are delighted to share these images of two new build houses recently completed in Merriott working with Cherwyn Developments.

“Cherwyn Developments have employed the services of the team at Stone and Partners for many years and found them to be professional, proactive and have a collaborative approach to delivering planning designs and working drawings. In these challenging times they are commercial in their approach to design and technical solutions and conscious of our increasing build costs”

Feedback Taunton School

Some great feedback from one of our long standing clients, Taunton School.

‘Taunton school engaged Stone and Partners to provide architectural and contract admin services for the delivery of a significant development project over the summer of 2022- the creation of our new Carrington Library and Sixth Form Centre.

These spaces were to be constructed in the heart of our beautiful Grade II listed school building , providing modern, contemporary facilities without detriment to the ancient fabric of a landmark building in Taunton.

The works took place throughout a busy Spring and Summer term with little or no disruption to school life, despite being at the very heart of the campus.

Stone and Partners worked closely with the school and its key stakeholder communities throughout the entire design and delivery of the project and the result is an incredibly sophisticated but functional scheme that has attracted praise and interest across the whole school and beyond. The success of this project, in terms of visual appeal and the enjoyment our students and staff realise, from its use, is incredible and Stone and Partners can be justifiably proud to have completed this part of our school’s development history. The Library and Sixth form centre will serve our school admirably for years to come.’

Feedback Kennett Construction

Great feedback from Kennet Construction on this recently completed project.

“Kennet Construction Ltd are delighted to have delivered another successful project for The Priory Learning Trust at Castle Batch School. Kennet Construction Ltd was appointed Main Contractor for the design and build of a new Early Years facility and were given an outline remit to develop a planning application submission. This was made possible with the help of Stone + Partners Architecture with whom Kennet Construction has a good working relationship from previous projects. The high level of professional service from Stone + Partners Architecture meant Kennet were able to quickly respond to Client needs and provide details at short notice. This was crucial in enabling a smooth transition from obtaining planning permission to starting construction on site. Furthermore Stone + Partners Architecture provided condition discharge liaison and helped with building regulation construction details for us to complete the project on time for the start of the new term. The whole project was delivered through the planning process and completed on site within 9 months which is an outstanding achievement.”

Growing in Wellbeing

Stone + Partners are pleased to be able to assist in adding a new lease of life to the patient and staff garden areas at Victoria Park Health and Wellbeing Hub, Bridgwater.

Staff at the Hub felt that, while the interior of the building had been refurbished to be a bright and welcoming space, the exterior – particularly a patch of land outside the front door – was in rather a sorry state and in need of some TLC.  Sponsorship from Stone + Partners allowed the staff to create a bright and hopeful floral area, in keeping with the newly redecorated and remodelled building.

Stone + Partners have many years experience of working in the health sector, and today we continue to be committed to providing architecture services to NHS trusts and others as a core part of our practice.
